Finally went out and bought a rear section from carhood warehouse, however the way the hood is finished is slightly different and I need help!!

On my old hood there is a small rubber channel that is sown onto the hood edge where the fabric arches up from the velco fastening onto the very bottom of the hoop on each side (sorry... still with me??) The new hood has the sown 'lip' that just carries straight on.. ie no arch upwards so the bottom of the hood material is way below the bottom of the hoop and gets in the way of the door closing!

Before I start chopping up a perfectly good hood, has anyone come up against this or even better had a new hood fitted and can post/email me some pictures of this area?

Thanks in advance

Hi, I've not had my S long, but what I've found is I cannot put the roof on with the windows closed. It's alos easier with the doors open, but once it's on, I don't have any problem closing the doors etc., Cheers.

I would be interested to know how much too as I need/want one.....?

Give them a call but from what I remember when I looked into this, as all Tivs are different, that part needs to be cut to size and they should have supplied you with some rubber to stick on to cover the edge??? Let me know because like I said its something I am looking into.

The rear section and targa panels came to about £350 if I remember... there was no mention of anything that would compromise the fit or offers of rubber bits... I'll ring them now.

Don't know if thiw if of use /will work, but the following ling is from ebay, a place advertising hoods / rear window panels. I realise this listing has ended, but if they are still trading it might be worth enquiring with them, Cheers.

I'm looking into a new roof now and the best I've been quoted is £450 + VAT supplied and fitted by Hoods Galore in Leigh-on-Sea and £245 for supply only (rear section and materials for the Targa Panels) from a company called BAS International (www.bas-international.com/). Car Hood Warehouse would have been good 'cause they're local but they wanted £725 + vat with a £300 deposit (because I'm fussy about the colour). I'll be at Austec on Sunday if you want to compare notes.

Cool will try to catch up at Austec, although might only be there a short while I am afraid. My wife has had to fly off to Geneva on Business so I am here with my two year old and have no babysitter for Sunday..... What the hell are grandparents for???

That along with the Liverpool v Man U game at midday means I wont be there long Im afraid............?

Try and grab me whilst I am there though.

My fault... As my wife put it your such a bloke! when it turns out I hadn't emptied the box properly and a small rubber strip (for the little arched bits) came tumbling out. Sorry to CHW very nice hood now its fitted - great quality, just watch the little bits!!

Some pics of this nice new hood section would be nice for those of us considering a similar job in the future .
