Hello
Can someone remind me what the indicator stalk/hazard warning switch is from ?
My hazard warning switch has stopped working so looking for a replacement.

Mk3 ford escourt seams to ring a bell.

Thanks in advance for any help.

They are probably interchangable, although the Escort ones are cheaper on ebay!

81 refers to the year that the part was first used by Ford on an Escort. 83 on a Sierra. Higher spec Sierra's had the horn on the wheel centre, so will be a different stalk.

Sometimes they look the same, but the length or size can vary, or the plug. Fiesta looks the same, but the hazard switch is round. Capri looks similar. Transit looks similar but is a bit larger.

Escort 81AG13B302BA will fit but is the wrong angle, a bit of careful heating and it can be bent forward so you can reach it

Sierra 83BG13B302BA is correct, not all Sierra's are the same, some didn't have horn push and others had a round hazard switch. The correct ones are really quite hard to find now, those that do pop up all seem to be from Sierra Cosworths and priced accordingly wink

If and when you do find a replacement I'd like a faulty one to see if they are repairable smile

The hazard switch on mine failed recently which resulted in the indicators failing occasionally. As the hazard element is very basic , being reliant on a small spring and in my opinion of poor design, decided to rewire the switch using a remote. The unit I used was a Febi 0290950 costing some £13 compared with a direct replacement being in the £100 - £200 price range when I investigated.
