Hi guys..
Just purchased a S2, but it has a few issues..
So hopefully I can get some useful information from you knowledgeable lot...
1) differential rumbles at above 60mph, so I need to either refurb it, or buy a reconditioned one... ( apparently it's a Sierra dif, but which one? )
2) radiator could do with being looked at, so where would I take it to?.. any specialists?
3 ) fuel tank needs changing, as it's not in the best condition, new £400 ish, but I could maybe get one made , does anyone have a specification drawing, to show a fabricator?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want it safe to use and enjoy....

Are you sure it's the diff? Have you checked the bushes? There's lots of business refurbishing diffs, especially one that common.

You haven't stated your location so that's a tricky one smile In any event, be wary of "specialists"! You just need to find your local radiator re-core business. The core is readily available and cost will largely depend on where you live. The nearer London the more expensive. It's either Sherpa van or Classic Range Rover, I can't remember which but someone will.

Getting one made would probably cost more than £400. It is possible to have the old one refurbished but I doubt you'll save much against a new one for £400.

Good luck with your new 'S'. thumbup

A copy of Steve Heath's S Series Workshop Manual ('aka The Bible') would be a good addition to your Christmas wish-list.

I see there's one currently available on eBay for £85.00 - not cheap, but worth every penny.

One of the older Subaru Impreza aluminium radiators is a fairly easy swop, with a bit of re-plumbing, if you have a nearby TVR engineer. Discussed here :

£85 ? Someone's having a laugh!!!!

Available new for half that. Good in its day because there was nothing else but there's nothing in it that can't be found for free online these days.
