hand brake mechanism
Discussion
From memory it was just a case of backing off the adjuster to get as much slack as possible and then using as much force as necessary to un-hook the cable from the lever on the calliper.
When you have the calliper and brake pipes out of the way and the hub assembly off you can start on (trying) to remove the trailing arms.
Undo the lower damper bolt then try to remove the inner and outer pivot bolts from the bushes. This is where you are likely to run onto problems. If the bolts are seized into the bushes you may have to cut them out. If you need to resort to this (I did!) you'll need a very thin cutting disc on your angle grinder.
Good luck!
