Help.... !

I am new to the TVR world (it has taken me 28 years to fulfill the dream i promised myself when i was 20) and have bought myself an S1

I need to replace the wing mirrors as the passenger side is broken and these lovely forums recommend the MX5 or the Citroen CX

I think i prefer the CX BUT and this is where my question is ..... where can i find the CX mk 1 mirrors that i can buy and fit to my new car i have looked online and various place but cant find any online - please can someone point me to where i can buy a pair !

CX mirrors were used on the V8s and then the Chimaera and Griffith. They were also used by Lotus, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Marcos and probably some others too, so they are virtually impossible to find now. Even second hand. frown

You'd be better off looking for a pair of Mk1 MX5 mirrors. LIKE THIS Not that expensive and a much better option than trying to find a pair of CX mirrors.
I have a pair of later MX mirrors in the garage. I'm sure if they would fit an 'S' door but if you're interested I'll dig them out tomorrow and post a photo.

Another option is VW Corrado mirrors but they aren't cheap either.

Do a search on here. Many options have been tried over the years so you're likely to find something to suit.

The MX-5 owners club do or did a stainless steel upgrade kit for the internal springs and fixings etc .. Worth investing in. That, and blue tinted mirrors.
