Not exactly sure how to add all the details into the S1, 1.5, 2 owners list.

I have a dark blue S registered 7th December 1988, F800PLA. I bought it on the 18th of May 2005 as a way of getting back into TVRs having been away from them for a number of years. Long story short, bought a Chim 450 in 2009 to scratch the V8 itch with the intention of selling one at some point. 2010 came and the S chassis failed the MOT. As I had a good job at the time I decided that Elmwood TVR could do a body off job and I would get the chassis restored. So you know how that starts, how about a Cossie etc? Anyway it was a fill in job which progressed very slowly but since I had the Chim I just left it there. Elmwood stopped doing TVRs and then the pandemic arrived. I was then contacted by Mark Davies, a friend of Elmwood and he took it on board to get it running. So I now have a TVR S with a rebuilt BOA, Emerald, Sierra LSD and poly bushed suspension. Mark has done some great work although there's more to do, rolling road etc. My problem is which TVR do I keep as I will have to sell one of them? Having driven the S yesterday it does seem like a lot of fun.

I remember your car in bits at Elmwood. Pete & Toby were good guys, so gutted when Pete packed it in. Took me a while to find somewhere decent after they stopped. I did wonder how your project would end up.

Was it originally a 2.8 or 2.9 engine - I'm guessing 2.8 so have added it to the S1/1.5 list, but let me know if the entry is not right and needs changing in any way.

P.S. - keep the S

Pete's doing mobile work now and still looking after my Chim. Mark Davies is very good. His attention to detail is amazing. I set a limit on the S to get it going so I could then decide which car to keep. He's restored an early 90s 4 litre Griff which is up for sale and it looks brilliant. If you remember there was a 5litre Chim also in bits at Elmwood and Mark's now restoring that for himself.

Hi Ray, it was a 2.9 originally. Obviously the S still needs work but it does feel very old school TVR compared to the Chim. My other half really loves the clean lines of the S so I'm not sure but certainly one needs to go.
