S1 Heater Control Cable
Discussion
You can buy piano wire in short lengths and all sizes. The ends are just formed in right-angle bends or loops. If it snaps when you bend it, then heat (just the bend) to bright red, and cool before bending.
If the outer sleeve is not salvageable, then bike brake outer will do fine: all on eBay etc. I think all the ends of the outers are clamped (they are on S3's), so you don't need ferrules on them.

Thanks, one end is a loop and the other like a hook (if I remember correctly), Landrover seem to have one with the loop already formed so may try that, cut to length and then form the hook end. Might be a bit short though, think it was nearly 1000mm long and lanrover one doesnt look that long. Will have to double check. Cable was seized in sleeve, so need both cable and sleeve.

Do you have the end fittings and clamps?
This isn't IMO something that needs buying as a special part. You can buy generic bike brake cable outer sleeve and piano wire by the yard. Ends are easily formed with pliers.
I’ll give that MG one a go, at least the round looped end is pre-formed and thats the bit behind the dash. If doesn’t work I’ll get a generic. Good to hear it worked.
How is work on the car progressing?
The big milestone is getting the engine to run, Never seen it running, so that could be fun, to do that just a few jobs left. How is work on the car progressing?
Finish off connecting filler neck tube
Fit new tank blanking plate and rubber washer
Put distributor cap back on.
Fit radiator and hoses
Paint and fit exhaust
Engine oil, brake and clutch fluid, coolant
Buy a fire extinguisher.
Exhaust is the most difficult of those to do, so extremely close to turning the key.
Be good to hear you have it running. You have done a lot of work over a long time. Deserve to have some fun soon!! Do you think you can get it to S Club Heaven in September it would be good to see you and your efforts would be a talking point for other enthusiasts. be nice to see a couple more S1's too, mine is getting lonely!!

Good man, I would certainly be very interested to swap experience. Have you seen the post on S Club Heaven? If you are on FB it is easier to message me from there, but by all means let me have details on the PH post if you prefer.
I did see it in FB, but don’t really read them as not ready to participate just yet. But I’m getting there. Fitting the fuel neck at moment then onto radiator. Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
