1088 TVR S1 - 2.8 Brake Fluid

Nearing end of a full rebuild and need to add brake fluid to a completely new system. What is recommended, DOT 4 or 5.1.

Can I use the same for the clutch

And how much will I need

Use Dot 4. The Dot 5.1 is better for racing use, but it is more hydrophilic, it deteriorates faster. You should replace it every 6 months. Dot 4 replacement delay is 2 years. A 1-Litter can is enough.

Dot 4 for brakes and clutch.
How much depends how good you are at bleeding brakes but if you need more than a litre you're definitely not very good at bleeding brakes.

Thanks guys. I’ll chance my arm with 1ltr. Have a bleed kit so shouldn’t be too wasteful. Unless my pipe flares aren’t upto scratch.
