Radiator water tank

Water full tank cleaned up quite nicely. Chopstick, dishwasher tablet and a bit of kitchen roll.

How does the hose connector at the bottom work, Is it supposed to be free flowing, has a one way valve on it, only works when hot???? It seems blocked, and blowing in either direction doesn’t seem to work.

Any help appreciated.

It should be free flowing and connected to the outlet in the neck of the swirl tank. Perhaps in your case sediment/rust has collected here and formed a plug. A small twist drill would soon clear that out.

Thanks. Didn’t want to clear it through without checking. The inside of the tank did have a fair bit of sediment/rusty lining.
