Nice little project car
Discussion
The seller claims it has "only 55,000 miles". Perhaps he doesn't know that these days, anyone can check that claim. The latest MoT, which was 2010, shows it already had 58,966 then. That lie, combined with "THE PAPERWORK HAS SINCE BEEN LOST" and his request for cash on collection, would make me walk away. Or probably run ...
All of these car are old now. I have never thought a full service history means much for an old car. The fact that the oil was apparently changed according to a receipt 20 years old doesn't make a rusty car more valuable in my view. It is much more important to look at what is physically in front of you and decide what it is worth. If for example, the mileage is high but the chassis is solid then that would seem a better bet than a low mileage car with no outriggers left. Engines are relatively easy to fix especially in this case. looking at things like wear on seats, steering wheels, and pedal rubbers will give some idea of mileage too.
I agree with Keynsham above it is potentially a good buy, BUT as always buyer beware. Some of the things mentioned above wouldn't particularly worry me.
He has put a lot of information in that advert. If you buy it then on collection you find it is NOT as described you can walk away and ebay WILL be on your side.. I have been in that position more than once. The worrying ones are where there is very little information which gives you very little come back. With a 100% feedback of almost 5000 i have a good idea how ebay works to protect buyers.
The guy has pretty good feedback as both buyer and seller.
I doubt if anyone would pay with real cash on collection these days! These days ebay use that term but in reality it means pay by bank transfer on collection, which can be done there and then. Again, if it isn't as described you can walk away and then please let ebay know. Sensible sellers would ask for a deposit of say £250 by paypal within 24 hours, which means both must have a paypal account and ebay can step in if there is a problem.

Loving this, the guy leaves caps lock on, makes a typo error on the mileage and loses some paperwork and you lot have him down as a major fraudster and con artist!
Three grand for all that compared to the two grand a certain TVR dismantler wants for a rusty rolling chassis.
Definitely a con artist, he only has an ebay rating of 100% and has only undertaken 1279 ebay transactions! Three grand for all that compared to the two grand a certain TVR dismantler wants for a rusty rolling chassis.
A perfect project for somebody!
