Could any of you knowledgeable folks help me identify a replacement coolant pipe that runs beneath the front pulley? Mine has a pinhole at its lowest point. I guess from years of sitting unused.

Thinking of cutting the tube and sliding on a small hose with clamps. Or will it become too wobbly?

Cheers,

Nick

I doubt that flexing will be a problem, but getting a hose to seal on the outside of a rusty pipe might be. Do you even need to cut it at all? Can't you push the hose on from the end?

ETA you could replace the whole thing with a flexible hose and external support. There are various companies that make a flexible metal bracket that you can form to shape and then wrap around the hose to pull it into shape - or make your own.

Good call. Thanks. I'll see if I can slip a bit over from the end that doesn't have a bracket. Only leaks occasionally on the cool down, so should hold.

Myself and one or two others have made a replacement pipe from 15mm copper plumbing pipe.

I would think that pipe is long obsolete, slim chances of finding a new replacement?

If the outside surface is not too rusty it should clean up well enough for a hose to grip and seal, should you have to cut it.

Thanks, yes I do now recall something about this on the FB group, but as I've purged myself of most social media. I do have to rely on my memory!

Will whip the pipe off and see what I can do!
