How are you getting on with the V6 electric water pump, Mike? I'm still holding on to the spare timing cover from the 'free engine' for you.
Crikey! that one got put on the back burner, apologies John I had forgotten all about the cover. Are you going to Sywell or happy to pay postage?

"Having finally gotten around to fitting the electric power steering (documented on FB wink ) may be it's time to give the battery a little more to do!"

Let's get out from under frontfloater's feet, Mike.

No, I'm not going to Sywell. The bus has been on the ramp since just before the first lockdown, and as is traditional it's about six weeks away from being on the road. but that 6 weeks may take 6 months...

But the cover isn't eating any meat in the garage loft. It's there when you want it.

I'm adding the power steering to the current list, as I'm rewiring the dashboard and the PS will need its own 40A supply.

I'm hoping to use an MTA battery-post fusebox for that, and for new, more rational, supplies to the main fusebox.

I couldn't find your power steering thread on FB (no surprise there, then). Did you use an Easysteer unit, and if so how did you fit it into the column? I'm going to be introduced to a bloke, local to me, who can do the welding, but I'd like other options.

I'm replacing the heater (one of the original problems) with a modern unit with a fresh-air inlet and controls. And replacing the fuse block with an MTA modular micro-fuse/mini-relay unit which will accommodate all the various relays and separate fuses now scattered around the cockpit. And the yellow connector is long gone.

The central locking and heated seats are already in.

So: maybe I'll make S-Club Heaven next year. The car is getting less and less original. But it did have a 2.4 engine when I got it!

No, its a Subaru hydraulic rack fed by a Saxo (same as Sagaris wink ) electric pump. A well documented (on PH!) mod for Chimaeras which I tweaked to suit my S smile

Frontloader doesn't seem too impressed with his big farewell post getting hijacked, but at least he got a few replies. I'm happy to delete my comments if you and FuFu (are you reading this?) want to do the same?

No problem, I will just copy and save them to be able to past them quickly the next time you'll post to promote FB and denigrate PH .... probably in 2 threads....

Not deleted but anything that might be considered derogatory about PH has gone. I really don't think there is any harm in pointing out an additional source of TVR info and advice.
Just as I have mentioned to many new owners on FB the wealth of info and help on PH smile

Really? So now you're offended that I even mention there are sources of info other than your beloved PistonHeads?

Mike - I massively value your posts on pistonheads and like you I look into both Facebook and PH. I am glad you still contribute here when someone needs advice. I have to say the FB is more social and doesn’t archive well, So have always preferred the format of pistonheads. However there are lots of things I can’t stand like MSTeams, but people use it and we need to stay in touch with fellow minded people through whatever media, so like you, I check in on both. I am saddened by the recent exchanges which to me are just unnecessary and frankly “Troll” like. I also find it a bit disrespectful given just how much you have contributed to this particular forum. Please keep contributing - you have been a huge help to so many S owners me included, so long may it continue.

I was a fan of PH for a very long time and tried hard to keep TVR S stuff on here. It was so much easier to access archives and to keep comments in a sequential post. But regrettably it did not move with the times. I am an 'old' enthusiast' and I simply have to accept that 'young' enthusiasts rely on 'modern' social media that can be accessed easily on their phones. So a very reluctant transfer to FB, with all the problems and shortcoming it has.
Like it or not FB is a FAR more active medium for S owners. I am slightly surprised, although very relieved, that PH has survived thus far. I am very worried that at some time the archive of info on PH will be lost as we are very dependent on Haymarket's commercial priorities.
Take a recent event. 44 S owners involved, of which only a small handful are active on PH.
I try to keep looking in on PH but there is so much FB activity I often don't have the time.
