False mileage? on Ebay S2

Just a word of warning to anyone considering this S2 currently on Ebay with "LOW MILEAGE" in the title and description.

An MoT history check via the GOV.UK website shows that the mileometer was apparently not working for at least 12 years. From 2006 to 2018, the mileage stays constant at 58,881 for most years, but rose to 58888 in 2009 and then back down again, and then up to 58882 in 2016 and again back down to 881 for a couple more years.

Unless the owner trailered the car to all of these tests and two testers took two different wrong readings, it would appear that the 2nd digit on the mileometer was jammed during all those years ; and for an unknown time before 2006.

Unless I have overlooked something obvious .... ?

The seller has since removed the words "low mileage" from the title and description, after I pointed out the MoT history. But his description and Item Specifics still say "Mileage : 59,000 Miles".
