MOT failed on suspension

Just had the S3 back from its MOT. Unfortuantely it failed on the front suspension: "Excessive play to N/S front top swivel". Does anyone know what the top swivel is, where to get one from and how easy it is to replace? The garage said its above the damper.

It sounds like the front top ball joint, which is from a SAAB 900 (p/n 8993321 - according to the parts list)

Had both my top ball joints done recently - shouldn't be a major issue.

My garage sourced the new ball joints from the Q&H part No. QSJ1004S. There were some issues reported with the SAAB original equipment part if I recall.

Looking at c.£20/£25 each IIRC.
