Boot stuck closed on S3c

Hi, I'm new to all this... Anyway, I have an S3c and the boot is stuck closed. I have replaced the relay and when you press the boot release button you can hear the relay click. I have had someone press the boot down gently as I press the button and still nothing happens...
It did work when I first got the car in June but has since given up, I need to change the solenoid.
So... How can I open the boot? The car does have 2 10" speakers behind the seats if this helps...

replace the solenoid, super cheap, did this when I 1st got my car and never an issue since

The first thing I have done after buying my S3C, was putting a new solenoid and installing an emergency cable, to be able to open the boot even with a faulty electric system. But looking behind the number plate, the electric opening system has already been falty

It's all fixed! Can now open and close the boot. Next job replace the aerial....
