Please forgive me if you think I am being unduly cautious. Some time ago I was involved with another member in detailed research on the servo and master cylinder in particular. At that time there was no supply of the original parts from any original supplier. We spent a considerable amount of time with a large motor factor and accessed microfiche and parts manuals from TRW and Delphi in particular and got direct advice from the former. I am a qualified mechanical engineer with training in fluid dynamics (albeit some years ago!) and I confess I was surprised to find how many subtle differences there were in brake set ups and why. We also contacted the ABI on the insurance position and the DVSA on the alternative parts position. We endeavoured to provide advice on exact alternatives and advice which could be justified in the event of a claim.

That advice is in PH and the Alternative Parts list. However parts to the original exact specification are now available from Racing Green.

I have no idea if any other parts might or might not be suitable. All I can say is that until PROVEN to be to be exact alternatives then we should assume they are not. If I can be provided with parts numbers for possible alternatives that I can reference to Lucas/TRW or Delphi records I will endeavour to do so. I would be delighted if another exact alternative came to light, but until PROVEN I would urge caution; brakes are the last area to experiment with and we don’t want to lose any S cars (or drivers!)
