Off the road again ! aarrgghh

The sun was out so I thought I would take my car out for a little drive. Car was running lovely. Came out of a shop and the car turned over but wouldnt `spark` up. AARRRGGGHHHH ! Rescue truck / high loader came out and couldnt fix it. He seemed to think it is the Ignition module !! Any thoughts out there. Now have to wait until Monday for the car to go into a garage.

New to the S thing myself, however...I did have an alfa once that presented exactly the same symptoms and found the ignition module was indeed kaputt. I changed that and everything was fine.
They are very endearing cars though, probably due to situations like yours.
I tried to find a popped fuse today (amongst other things, if you want a chuckle look at my s3c profile). Had a look in the fuse box 'area' to be met with the biggest jumble of snot and wires you have ever seen.

However, after pulling most of the electrics apart, it all works.....amazing, absolutely amazing.

Hhmmm, not sure to be honest. I`ll have a listen tomorrow. Probably have to wait to be told the fault by the garage on Monday.

Car back on the road again
Fuel pump was ok.
When the car broke down the breakdown guy thought it was the Ignition module... but that was fine. Fault diagnosed as faulty sensor on the distributor. So changed the distributor....car now works perfectly.
Seems much, much smoother and certainly more power. (I now have a spare ignition module, dissy cap,rotor arm etc
)The car works 100% better than when it was running before. Mechanic also tidied up lots of loose wiring, checked plugs etc. All in all he did a great job. Seemed a well sorted mechanic to me. Well priced too. So after no driving for a week I have just got back from an hours (50 miles 
) hurtling safely around some country roads. Must give it a clean & polish before going to Silverstone on Sunday ! Also very impressed with the breakdown company used by my insurance company Classicline. Origanly breakdown vehicle collected me on Saturday evening. Took me home and then I phoned them on Monday 8am and they came back to take me to the garage..Fairplay
