S1 / S2 Steering Column

Late last year I acquired a 1988 S 1.5 TVR which I'm in the process of restoring. Can anyone tell me if the steering column is adjustable for and aft? Looks like it is but I want to make sure before I loosen the clamp bolt. The 280i parts manual and the Steve Heath book are not very specific.

It is not designed to be adjustable but you may achieve a few millimetres with a bit of jiggery pokery ?
