Sticking plaster, glue or bluetack

Hi all,

My headlight bezel flew off some weeks ago and I have a spare one from a mini which looks almost to be the same.
Unfortunately the new bezel does not have the bit of tin welded at the bottom to hold it in place and it seems larger in diameter to the original one.
So are they the same size and what have you clever lot done to secure the bezel to the car.

They are standard mini trim with a bit of tin rivetted to the bottom. If you get them through a dealer they will (should) come with this bit of tin attached. If not, it only takes a couple of minutes to rivet a strip of tin in place yourself.

If only I had a rivet gun and some tin.
I have phoned tvrcarparts and Neil has the bezels without the tin bit so I'm stuck, which unfortunaetly my bezel isn't at the moment

Baked bean can and scissors, splash out on a pop rivet gun (£10 or so, but it'll keep you in headlamp trim for the rest of your life ), sorted.

On this subject, my chrome bezels do not fit properly, they kind of fit, but are a bit wobbly, and there are gaps either side, is this just another TVRism?

Just looked at mine seeing as both my headlights are out with it's optic nerves dangling on the drive.

The outer chrome ring doesn't have a bit of tin added, however, to release them I unscrewed a screw (?)that was holding it in place. Access from under the bonnet.. Other than that they held themselves in place remarkably well.

I'll take a pic if you like seeing as the car is currently spread over the front of the house.

Ah did that job myself just three weeks ago.
Morris Minor trims fit. I got the chrome plated Copper...no more rust problems. I had to add the so called strip of tin myself. I actually used a piece of Stainless steel (cut to size from a large stainless jubilee clip).
