Its a S3c compatible with E10 Fuel, or what does it need to be compatible

This is not as silly a question about a 1990 car as it first appears

The Government and Fords websites state most Fords from 1992 are compatible with a few exceptions but none have the 2.9 engines. As far as I can tell various Fords had 2.9 12V engines until 1994, with the Cosworth 24V going on a little longer. So that would indicate the engine itself and injector system will be fine with E10. That's not to say the hoses, fuel pump, filters etc are but if need be they are easy to replace.

Has anyone got more information or thoughts

Since 1990 is 2 years prior to 1992, then surely the answer is no, and why would you risk it? I doubt that you use a 1990 TVR every day and do 12000 miles a year in it, so why wouldn't you just used E5 ordinary where it is available, and Super Unleaded (V Power etc.) which is remaining at E5 when ordinary E5 isn't available. Yes V Power costs more, but it won't matter on a small mileage, and it's better petrol.

Esso 99+ is the best option.
It is ethanol free everywhere except the SW, Wales, N. England and Scotland.
It will say E5 on the pumps but that is because 0 is in the range 0-5 and the oil companies have to display either E5 or E10 on the pumps

My local Sainsburys has E10 stickers on the unleaded pumps. But also a big typed page stating that it will be from 1st September... Why the stickers then.. smile

The super unleaded will remain E5.

We do not know how long V Power etc will be available, while touring especially on the continent it is not always easy or impossible to find. So it was me nice to know if it was comparable or how to make it compatible. In a few years time it might a question we need to know an answer to.
It is unlikely that Ford made significant changes to the 2.9 engine in the last few year of production. So if a 1992 is compatible the chances are a 1990 will be too, or could be made to be compatible.
