Hi all,

I've now received my replacement wing-mirror surround and it needs painting, so there I go to Halfords with the paint code (Cobalt Blue P420-8870) to get some paint mixed. Unfortunately, they need a manufacturer (TVR not listed - surprise, surprise) and also say the paint code I have isn't a 'real' one.

Suggestions please? Will the factory know on a car this age?

Yep, speak to the paint shop, they had the conversion numbers from ICI (which is what you have above) to my Ford colour

Halfrauds also have some pretty good colour charts/swatches which I tried and matched myself out in their carpark.
Have to say I found one which was exactly the same as my TVR 'Arabian Blue'...it was a Rover colour!!!
You can't see the difference at all and suspect if I had got the original re-made you would have seen a contrast between the new and old paint.
The sprays are in holts cans, cheap, and they do spray well.

Hi Guys

I have been trying to get hold of a Cooper Green touch-up pen.....nothing on display at halfords.

Tim - were the swatches only for colours on display, or do they mix other colours?

Anybody know the ICI paint code for Cooper Green?

Cheers

Larry
