In my copy of Heath (second edition) on the wiring diagram on page 308 ('sheet 3 of 4'), the printing stops short of the top of the diagram (near the spiral binding). The references to the destinations of the connections going 'off the top of the page' are missing.

I'm trying to trace the wiring of the headlamp flasher relay. I guess that the top inch or so of the page is missing.

Steve Heath attributes the diagrams 'Courtesy TVR Engineering'. Does anybody here have access to an original, or to a copy of the book that has the missing detail?

I think the S4C will be very similar to the S3C (like mine).

It's a composite of the three sets of diagrams in Heath, except for the ECU and engine wiring. For this the German Ford Sierra V6 1990 engine wiring diagram comes very close indeed. I can PM you a JPEG copy if you don't have it.

In the useful links, open the

>NEW Alternative Parts List & Useful Info Spreadsheets = UPDATED 2020 NEW List - PDF File

and on page 14, there is a link to many wiring diagrams, shown here. Click on the link to see the files.

Many thanks.....but not quite what I'm looking for.
The wiring of my S3C seems to have a lot in common with the S4 and V8S: it has the five-row fuse panel, and a a headlamp flasher relay (which does not appear on any of these diagrams.
The Heath/TVR 'V8S electrics sheet 3 of 4' almost gets me there.

I don't believe I've ever seen anyone document the wiring on a v8 when they've had it in bits, TVR never did afaik.

I only modified the wiring where the body loom connects to the engine loom when I ditched the lucas ECU, never needed to touch the rest of it so not had any need to document what's actually there.

I think.........................?????XXXX"""""

The main beam flash relay will be the very same relay that gives main beam and is often named as main beam relay

Ford and other multi switches (column switches) rarely have a second output for main beam flash

I am surely missing something?

The second edition of the Steve Heath book has a four-page TVR diagram, allegedly for the V8S. I've found that the cable colours from item to item correspond perfectly with the reality in my 1990 S3C. That's except for the things that are not there, e.g. headlight washers, aircon, pop-up headlights and heated rear window (on a V8S? Really?)

Here's a scan of page 3 (book page 308):

You can see where the print is cut off on the right hand side. What's missing is the references to points on the other pages that the diagram links to; my particular problem is relay 108 which a text page identifies as the 'Headlamp flash relay'. I can't see where the 'common' and 'n/o' connections go. 107 would be the headlamp lift relay. On a a V8S!

Thanks PP; the parts list text includes 'Head light relay', 'Headlight control relay', 'Headlight relay main/dip beam control relay', 'Headlamp flash relay', and all these are present on my fuse panel. I'm going to try to trace all the wiring through physically, but it's the usual rat's nest under there. I prefer to have an idea how things are supposed to work, before I start.

The objective is to a) get rid of the dim/dip arrangements (that's yet another relay on mine) and b) take all the lighting power switching off the steering column and replace it with relays at the fuse box.

Yep, sadly writing "v8s" on a wedge wiring diagram doesn't make it resemble the car too closely which is a shame because I think pop up headlights are awesome.
iirc the other three v8 pages are an engine wiring diagram for a wedge with the older mid 80s flapper afm setup, a diagram for the electric mirrors that might actually be correct and one for a griff/chim which is probably also not especially helpful.

yep, should all be to BS au 7a
Which should make tracing the lighting wires reasonably easy as they're all the colour you'd expect them to be

Sorry whilst i cant help directly, but i've noted the Steve Heath wiring diagrams are copies of the diagrams that came with the owners handbooks i.e. in the back my grey TVR owners information wallet are two folded wiring diagrams for the S3. Noted i might be going out on a limb ....does an S4 owner out there have an original handbook wallet with S4 wiring diagrams in?

Have you got a photo? to best of my knowledge all S's had precious few relays, in the lighting dept. there's just dim/dip and one for the additional driving lamps?
