Wow, gunned it a bit down hill in second gear. Took my foot off the loud pedal and BANG. Big cluncking sound but still had drive. Luckily I was just coming home from another MOT pass so limped home.
Jacked the car up and was shocked to see that one of the top diff mounts had failed even though they have had little wear. The only thing I can think is that it was a manufacturing mistake.
Any ideas about better options on the market ?

Not seen that problem before. Probably worth just fitting new similar units.

Only last year I had one break and bought some rubber ones from a De Lorean Specialist but looks like they now only have the Poly ones?

Are you missing the large washer that goes on the underside (by the head of the bolt)? I'd imagine without it all the load goes through the inner sleeve and can result in this?

I'll check the size of washer installed but still surprised it completely failed and only on one side the other side looks perfect.
