Hi all.

For the last few journeys the engine has been misfiring when cold but then runs ok when warmed up. I was checking the temperature sensor wiring when I saw another sensor behind it. Can someone tell me what it is? The wiring on it looks old and cracked and it would be a job I'd do when I replace the old temp' sensor.

Thanks,

Steve

The one with the white connector is the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, that tells the ECU how hot the engine is.
The one with the black pop-off connector is the sensor that tells the gauge on the dashboard how hot the engine is.
Neither to be confused with the Otter Switch on the top hose that tells the fan relay how hot the engine is!

Thanks. I don't have an otter switch as I swapped to a Kenlowe fan a few years ago. The wiring on the dashboard switch must be ok as the needle moves and is pretty accurate when checked with a laser temperature gun.

Just go to get to the bottom of the kangaroo drive until it's warmed up.

Cheers,

Steve
