Try putting this Finis Code into Google search:

Thumbsnap has obliterated the number! It is 6183965

Here's one possible result I got . . . . .https://www.online-teile.com/ford-ersatzteile/6183965_Auslassrohr.html?language=en

Yep, tried that and comes up blank. Is there an alternative that fits?

If you click on the image in the post, then when it opens in Thumbsnap, click it again to enlarge, the part number is clear.

88TM8592AA

Dunno what the Finnis is reference to.

Does that help?

Ford say:

'FINIS is an acronym of Ford International Numerical Identification System. It is another name for a ‘part number’. It's a 7-digit numeric.

But it's not the 'engineering part number' which is your 88TM8592AA. There is good correspondence between them, and Fordopedia shows both. The 'engineering part number' is the one you can see on the part itself.

The packaging should show both, but the storekeeper would prefer you to ask for the FINIS.

Yep gone! It’s just the hose connection end that looks to have had a bad make up job on it and seal to hose is dodgy.

Now you know what other engine they are used on, maybe worth trying Van breakers.

But do they leak from the pipes?

If so the small hose might seal better with a fuel pipe clamp type clip and although the bell end of the large hose has corroded, then as long as the remainder of the casting is sound the worm drive clip should seal OK when the surface is cleaned up..

What is the outside diameter of the part where the hose goes? If that corresponds to the ID of a piece of large bore copper pipe then put a short length over the alloy, bond in place with J B Weld and clamp the hose onto the copper.

Careful how you take the bolts holding the thermostat cover out - they are prone to snapping in the block. (No prizes for guessing how I know this)

Fez,

Turns out that the housing was in a box of other Mk3 Transit bits and the ebay seller assumed that was what it came off. Apologies for what may have been a useful lead for peep looking for one. getmecoat

Coming back in no particular order - housing is removed and bolts ok - if no replacement housing turns up then may well have to settle for copper pipe solution, thanks. - no worries re eBay lead smile

This wasn’t original project (no surprise I hear you cry), bonnet off for replacement rad and fan, thermostat, rad switch, hose replacement and timing belt. Who would have guessed housing would be the sticking point rolleyes

Thanks but looking at it not sure it will work; I think i will use a small amount of a special copper based sealant to sort it. I will vacuum fill the cooling system which will give a good indication that it's leak free before I put coolant in.
