Rebuild going well but have reached the part I've been dreading - the wiring! First item on the list is repairing the fuel pump cables.
Would I be correct in assuming that the rating of the cable should be higher than the fuse rating? Apologies if this is a bit simplistic but have no experience with electrics.

Also have a new brake master cylinder though it turns out to have m12 front connections and m10 rear - can i simply fit reducers?

Many thanks.

Repair? what is the actual problem - normally better to run a complete new cable. Yes the cable should be rated higher than the fuse - Pump fuse is 25A
Check out this web site for information https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/cable-sizing-select...

Which brake master cylinder have you fitted?
It is possible to obtain M12 brake fittings

Thanks for the cable info.

Previous owner fitted extensions from the existing cables to fuel pump using scotchlok connectors. I intend replacing these with soldered joints.

I bought a FIESTA 1.8D Brake Master Cylinder 89 to 94 TRW 6170668 89FB2140BA - 22.2mm

Good grief!

These should not appear anywhere in your car's loom under any circumstances. If you find any more, you need to get rid of them - and that will probably involve replacing wires.
