Which means I can get a "H" registration and reduced taxes here in Germany.
It hasn't moved for at least 3 years now but I'm now getting ready for better weather.
And my kids are itching for a ride more than I am. smile

I don't think that the tyres are 30 years old but I have never changed them and they are as hard as hell.
Are there any current recommendations for only summer use?

Hi Paul thumbup

Dunlop Blue Response or Fast Response have always been popular for the 'S'. I have the Fast Response on the V8 because that one comes in 55 profile.

There seems to be two main camps: 1. Dunlop BlueResponse and 2. Uniroyal RainSport5s (used to be 3's)

Both give good road holding and handling. I have Rainsport 5's on my Jag engined S1

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll see what offers the local dealer has.

There's been many threads on other models of TVR and other cars too recommending the UR Rainsports. Because they are good in the rain, they are softer so grip well in the dry, but don't last as long. Unless you use your TVR for loads of mileage that isn't an issue.

Another vote for Dunlop Blue Response - A -rated in the wet ..with a light weight car the wet is when it is most vulurable...plus they seem to work OK on track days.

If your tyre is over 7 years old then change it, no mater what the tread is like - they start to go hard then and this makes a big difference to their performance!

The age is indicated on the tyre itself...
