Evening, any pointers - S2 release cable design, boot closed; can't open the boot - cable doesn't do anything, don't think it's snapped as worked few days ago.
Is there a way to open the boot any other way?
Has anyone put an alternative lock in (i.e. a trad type lock that opens with a key at the boot)?
Cheers

I had the same problem on my S3, it turned out that the hooked end of the 'coat hanger' had become dislodged from the release mechanism.
I gained entry to the boot by taking off an after market speaker from the bulkhead in the parcel shelf area and putting my arm through the hole and releasing the mechanism manually. Reattached said coat hanger and made sure I bent the end of it enough that it won't happen again.
There is a 'secret' way of gaining access, but I don't know it..... I'm sure somebody who does will be in touch soon.
I hope that helps.

Thanks - I'd assumed that the fuel tank ran whole width of the boot. I don't have speakers there so will pull the carpet off & have a look. Any other suggestions welcomed!
The fuel tank sits more or less flush with the top of the chassis (sits level with the shelf behind the seats). If you remove the carpet you should find a fiberglass bulkhead so there won't be access to the boot from inside the car.
As others have said there is a 'secret' way to get into the boot.
Is there any resistance on the lever? If there is a lot of resistance, try pulling the bot release while an assistant applies some downward pressure to the boot lid to help release the catch.
The boot release cable runs through the driver side sill cavity (accessed to the right of the pedals). Potentially if the cable has slipped you may be able to pull the outer cable to operate the boot release?
