Hi Mick - what are you trying to do? Fit a V8 system to your car or a V6 system? given your power output I'd guess you'd be better off with a V8 system. Why don't you make a bespoke one?
I made a bespoke system and it passes 265bhp easily. I'm asking for a friend whose system is only managing 220.
a friend has put the Jag into his S and used the original V6 box and rear pipes, on the rolling road it only managed 220bhp and not the expected 265 ish that others including me have. I was wondering, as the V8S has about 240bhp but the V6 has about 170bhp,what the differences were. It is obviously a different, higher capacity exhaust box as the pipes are the same (certainly the rears are both 2 x 2")

No.
TVR figures from the 390 onwards are wildly inflated. Realistically you're doing well to get an honest 225 at the flywheel from a stock V8S. I think mine ended up at around 265 after a cam change and a lot of induction work. The 4.6 with the same induction was around 285 iirc. The numbers may be a bit off - it was 20 years ago - but if you're taking 240 as the baseline you're probably off by a good 20 bhp at least.
