I'm about to rewire the ECU on my standard 2.9 S3.

Am I correct in thinking that there's no advantage to going over to a programmable ECU i.e. Megasquirt? The engine's unchanged so I'm assuming that I'm not going to get any radical gains from tweaking a map?

If so, does anyone have a ECCIV connector they don't want? I want to build my new harness and double check against the existing one.
I have crimps, crimp removal tools etc.. just need the plastic housing.

Cheers, RIchard.

Something like this?

I don't think there's much to gain by changing the ECU without major surgery to the engine.

On the other hand, if you're a compulsive fiddler like me, then Speeduino could be the way to go.

It seems to offer most of what you get with Megasquirt etc, with startup maps and lots of online help. But you have to DIY much more, which would appeal to me!

Either way, good luck!

Cheers Jon - that's the part I need!

I've had a look at the DIY ECU options and would be prepared to build one if the engine was radically changed - i.e. turbo'd, different cam etc.. but I can't really see any improvements just replacing the ECU which would justify the cost and time required.

I've always got the idea of a Jag 3.0 V6 transplant in the back of my mind, and would rather spend the money on a straight swap than trying to eek more power out of the colonge.

Thanks, Richard.
