Hi All
Just checking I some how did not label this part when I stripped car down, I am remembering the hand brake goes back like the pictures below, but am wandering were the other ring goes? The one facing upwards, it fits into the one laying on it’s side perfectly.
I have put a pic of how I think it assembles without the other ring.

Also have I missed something with the handbrake, phoned TVR spares today and says I might have routed it wrong! I checked my photos Of strip down and have found other articles and I think I have it correct.

Wrong cable, Chimaera/standard Sierra?

S series is a shortened 'special'.

As for the route, it's just a case of whatever looks and sits right wink

This old post shows my homemade cable end I used to shorten a Sierra cable, similar things are available from some of the 'lotus 7' type kit car people.

While you're doing that you can swap the adjuster onto the other outer cable where it wil be far easier to access once everything is back together smile

Thanks
Could it have nothing to do with the brakes?

On my Chimaera I have one that looks something like that.
It is slid over the bottom seat belt mounting bolt between the seat belt and the chassis captive thread.
No idea if the same method is used on the S

The only other place I can think of for a spacer like that is on one of the fixing points for the metal water hose that bends around the lower nearside part of the engine?
It's the black thing in this picture, pretty sure mine looked just like yours before it got the paint job!

Thanks for all your help, I think it could be the seat belt spacer.
I am going to check next time at garage.

Measured the handbrake cable it is 3.36m long, so reading other threads it looks like I have a chimera hand brake that was packaged into a S handbrake bag from TVR spares.
I have emailed them waiting for a response.

Chimaera all have rear disc brakes, different end fittings but does sound like you have a standard Sierra cable? Description on their website says it should be 2.6m long scratchchin
