Thinking about selling my 944 cab for an S3.
Will i notice much difference in performance,944 has 211 hp and 0-100 in about 16 secs, not realy interested in 0-60 times as most of the time cars are allready moving along the Rd(except M25) also midrange on an S3 ie 30-70 etc.I know the Tvr won,t compete for top end but up to about 90 odd would be nice ,can the tvr match?.
By the way i don,t need to be sold on the noise thing,
and i would imagine the S is a lot cheaper to fix if it breaks(porker parts are very expensive even if you do use an independent garage@ £ 45 ph.

I reckon a well sorted S3 will definitely live with a 944 mid range. They have 170bhp or so but only weigh 980kg, so the power to weight ratio is good.
Anecdotally, 2 mates, 1 in a Cerbera and 1 in a Boxster S have both said keeping up with my S2 was a lot more difficult than they imagined it would be. Overtaking never seems a problem in it and the only proviso would be that the 944 is probably better balanced for the twisty bits.

Lot less civilised than the 944 though. Great if that's what you want, but in the winter I'd rather be driving the Porsche...

I had a 944 before I bought the S2, have never looked back, the Porsche ended up being more unreliable believe it or not
Sell the Porsche and buy the TVR, you know it makes sense

I agree with all that has been said but I would add that the S3 is fairly bullet proof and easily tuneable, as for handling, the S3 is fine with the right suspension package and some decent tyres.

Plus you get to go to S Club Heaven, where the only Porkers are on the catering van
