There was a post on here a while ago about temperature gauges and senders and how tricky ot was to match them so that the gauge an accurate reading. If the gauge is over-reading here is a simple solution. Fit one of these...


Cheap as chips off eBay.

The one on the link is 100Ώ but you'll need to experiment to find out how much resistance you need. Try something like a GU10 halogen bulb lamp wink which is typically 80Ώ. If that's too much then a 50Ώ potentiometer from the same supplier might do the job. They are so cheap though you might as well get both and see which one works best. Now you can measure the normal running temperature of the engine with an infrared thermometer and adjust the needle to the correct point on the gauge.
