Out of the following cars ranging from £4K to £30K, Classic Cars Magazine has reccomended the V8S as the best buy.
The car tested was a 92 Mica Red V8S. The V8S was valued at £8K. It was put up against the following cars:
MG Midget - £4000
Escort Mexico - £6000
TVR V8S - £8000
Lancia Delta HF Intagrale Evo - £10, 000
Renult 5 Turbo 2 - £12, 000
Lotus Elan Sprint - £15, 000
Alpine A110 1300 - £20, 000
Porsche 911 (930) Turbo - £25, 000
Hawk 289 FIA - £30, 000 (cobrs replica)
Each car was awarded 1-5 for the following:
Acceleration
Cornering
Seat of Pants
Sounds
Controls
Driver Feedback
Total
The V8S scored the following
Acceleration - 5
Cornering - 3
Seat of Pants - 4
Sounds - 5
Controls - 2
Driver Feedback - 2
Total - 21/30
The total Scores were as follows:

They just didn't add that not many were made and that at £8k you'll be pushing to get one. Anyhow the V8S is the best performer, outrunning all the other cars in top speed(bar the 911 turbo) and 0-60mph.

. Honestly FB is pretty good, not detatched in anyway IMHO, but ever car is different. Concur that at £8K you will struggle to find one to. A bit optimistic IMHO and I hope that as a result of this article everyone now turns up offering £8K because "thats what Classic Car says they're going for"

I reckon £7k - £8k will buy you one ready for £'s worth of TLC.

I'm fairly sure that their price guide in the back (or could have been different mag) says that you should be able to get an ok one for £8k, mint one for £10k. Think they need to do a bit of research !!

Its like everything, a cars worth what someone is prepared to pay?? A mint example of a V8S sold last year for £15.5K so there is a market for a good V8S even well into Griff/Chim money territory.

Read the article about an hour before I viewed the V8S I finally bought, felt like a message from above telling me to buy, so I did.
Paid £9.5k for mine, and very much doubt if you could find one for £8k that didn't need a bit spending on it.
That V8 sounds good though and was worth every penny.

Thanks. Haven't got a digital camera and if I did have wouldn't have a clue how to donwload them. I can just about log onto the net and thats it as far as my computer skills go.
It sounds good, and goes well, and is good in all the right places, particularly underneath. Still getting used to it though.But I think we are ready for a long term relationship.
