With the engine out was looking to replace the matting on the inner wings. Ive seen this, not self adhesive however was going to glue then fix with stainless washers and rivets. Any suggestions welcome? smile

I used some dual layer heatshield with a foam insulating layer and metalized outer layer, from Thermo-tec. It is quite spendy though.

I think this is an area where you get what you pay for.

Can anyone post some pictures of where and how much heat shielding is used?

It's the next job on the lockdown list....

Many thanks,

I already had the matting, just wanted to see where it's fitted - at the moment there's a small 6" square patch of old matting stuck on either side of the bay... not doing much really

I also added heat shielding to the chassis top rails on the side facing the headers, since the original coating was burnt off here. I've got similar protection round the top wishbone mounts and damper mounting bushes. May not be a problem for everyone - my headers do get a bit hot from time to time.
