Hi all,

Being in jolly Scotland we are still in lockdown so I have decided to investigate why my rev counter has sunk into the dash. After grazed knuckles and lost an 8mm spanner in the dash somewhere I finally managed to remove the wood effect fasia. The problem is that the glue holding some of the studs have come loose. Has anyone else had this problem and what did they use to reattach the studs to the back of the fasia? Would no more nails work?

Also I would like to retrieve my lovely 8mm spanner which I think has dropped down probably behind the bottom piece of dash where the window switches etc are. Unfortunately I can't seem to remove this because of the old Pioneer radio cd player. Can anyone help with the removal as it looks like someone has already had a go with a screwdriver at some point.

Try JB Weld to stick the stud to the back of the veneered part.

Good stuff but takes ages to 'go off' ? Perhaps I didn't get the quck set one?

I can vouch for JB weld , I used it on the studs on my centre console veneered panel and they are super strong now.
Just make sure the surface the studs are sticking to are well keyed up .
It does take quite a while to go off but in my view it's worth the wait . Good stuff .
