Does anybody know a source for the door seal? There are a lot of different ones on line but they don’t appear to fit a thick enough edge.
On my S2 the fibreglass appears to be approx. 5mm, plus about 1.5 to 2mm of carpet, giving an edge approaching 7mm in thickness.
Sketch/photo attached.
I have looked through old posts on here but links appear to have expired and suppliers mentioned in the past no longer appear to make a seal exactly like mine.
Any advice gratefully received. Thanks

Try COHBaines, their website is a PIA (possibly the worst in the trade) but they do have a good selection with detailed measurements. Have a look at ETS2108.
Also try Woolies and Seals Direct. Both have a good selection and are happy to send out samples.

Just replaced the door seals on my Taimar with this.

They do open up wider than the stated grip width.

Thank you. I've now checked the catalogues of Baines, Woolies, Seals direct and Themetalhouse. But I cant find a seal with the right depth and sufficient edge thickness. I note the advice that it will open wider than stated but I would guess it would need to be designed to fit an edge at least 5mm thick and then be stretched an extra couple of mm.
Has anyone fitted a new door seal to an S recently?.
What is the edge thickness on your Taimar Mr Phillpot, how wide was the seal you used able to stretch?
Once again your help is greatly appreciated

Have you tried Phoenix Trim? Might be worth a look.

I used the ETS2108 from Bains on a Tasmin and it fitted over the moulding and the carpet. As Phillpot said, the 'U' section will open wider although it will obviously depend on how thick you carpet is.
Why not ask for samples and see what how they fit.
TVR parts also sell a door seal so try that one as well.
