Additional lights.

Looking for some advice and tips for fixing and placing of front spots. When I brought the S3 (early model minus TVR spots) last year it came with a couple of 3" high oval spots which were placed directly BELOW the number plate, as a result they look hideous and I would like them moved. First question, anybody out there done any conversions by adding front spots/fogs to their S1, S2 or S3? If so, have you got any pics or make and model of the lights I should go for? I played with Photoshop last night and 'moved' them to the far left and right of the grill ABOVE the number plate. They look great! But they are too big to fall flush INSIDE the grill. Has any body got any ideas? Saw a pair in 'Halfaulds' today which were one and half inches high by six inches long. Not sure if and how they would mount inside the grill? The alternative, is to move the ones I have got to the far left and right as possible, but I can't see how they would fix. Any thoughts anybody? - It would be greatly received - many thanks.

I looked at putting some inside the 'smaller top' grill as well cos I thought they'd look great, only ones I could find though were so chuffin expensive that I haven't taken it further...

Might be worth talking to Jason at www.tvrbodyshop.co.uk/ as they do the twin headlight conversion for Griff etc and may be able to source some spots that are small enough?

Thanks for that, I'll give Jason a call, see what he says. As for expensive, those lights (ice blue) at one and half inches by six were £39 complete with extra wiring in Half wits today. Not sure if that is over your budget, It's just the fitting that bothers me!

I was looking a stuff more like this. As they are so small seems silly to buy anthing without any oomph

Hi Paul.
I have a couple of halfords type 'ice blue' oval spots on my S and am pretty pleased with the look,but don't expect much extra long range illumination unless they are too high, when you will get flashed by everyone!
The are about 2.5" wide by 2" high and I have fitted them into the bottom air-intake on either side.I then made a new grill directly in front of them so you don't notice them until they turn on!
They do look good low and equally spaced between the headlamps and the bonnet centre line.That way they are as bright as headlamps and all are equidistant so they look the business.Worth doing.
Mine are switched seperately from the lights or mainbeam circuit from a swith in the dash.
I have photos but,being a numpty,I would need handholding to post them.

Have you thought about hiding them behind the wire mesh? There's stacks of unused space in there and a wooden former at either side to mount them off.
