Hi well after a couple of years parked up I've tried to start the car everything seams ok fuel pump sounds to be running put new fuel in but not firing
Help please where does the fuel enter the engine bay so I can see if the pump and filters are clear

S2 2.9
I've checked for a spark too and can smell fuel on the plug

You say you have checked for a spark. So, is there one?

Easy way to check is to unscrew a spark plug, connect the lead to it and rest it on top of the Plenum. Turn the engine over and you should be able to see the spark. If it is not sparking away, work backwards from that, leads, Distributor, rotor arm, coil, etc.

Yes I have a spark the car ran fine then popped back through exhaust then refused to start or run

How much fuel did you put in and are you sure there's fuel reaching the injectors?

There's a small valve on the fuel supply manifold - maybe you have this type on your engine. I believe there were 2 different types fitted to these engines.

Loosen it slightly to see if you have fuel pressure after turning the engine over.

Bit worried now seem to have fuel at rail
A spark but not the best but a spark
Still not starting
