TVR S3c Speedo sensor

I have just refitted the sensor to my gearbox after many years and cannot remember whether it had any form of cover. Does anyone know if a cover was used? I cannot find any information elsewhere and the only cover I have seen I think relates to a cable driven speedo. I am presuming not but just thought I would check.
