There have been many postings about door adjustment over the years but almost all of these have focussed upon worn hinge bobbins and the resultant dropping of the door within its opening. My problem is somewhat different though and doesn't involve 'door droop'. Ever since I bought my S3c 9 years ago the lower rear of my n/s door protrudes by nearly 1cm from the rear body line whilst the top of the door aligns perfectly. Adjusting the striker plate makes no difference to this misalignment. Can anyone advise as to whether there's a tried and tested way of adjusting vertical alignment so that top and bottom trailing edges of the door have a consistent gap when closed? Thanks

TADTS...... Put simply the doors are the wrong shape and don't fit properly!

I did make some modifications to improve the fit, there should be an old post on here if you can find it.
I'll have a look later and see if I can track it down ??

I also noticed something similar on mine, but I didn't look at yet in detail, as the body is still off the car. frown

It could be due to the fact that the body is a little bit twisted. You could correct this by placing some extra spacers ( or removing some spacers) between the body and the chassis frame.

Can't find my old post but did find a couple of pictures...... can you see what I did?

Unfortunately I didn't think of doing this until after a respray irked the cut was concealed with some stick on reflective tape, along the bottom obviously doesn't show.

Thanks to all for your replies and hats off to Mike for bravery (you must have been a surgeon in a previous life). It seems, until I summon up my 'inner Mike' I'll have to accept that oft quoted TVR owners' observation "it's not a fault, it's a feature". Thanks once more to each of you - now where did I put that jigsaw?

you can modify the hinges (make the holes oval instead of round) to get some more adjustment,
