Hi
I’ve 15000€ budget to buy a tvr S serie.
What do you suggest me?
Which kind of S serie?
I’m Italian and I live near Milan.
I would use that car from spring until autumn for 20 km at day (not all day but not occasionally)
V8 is perhaps a dream and I don’t know if is perfect for that use
For example, there is this s4 LHD for 19950€ ( could buy for 18000€). I think is too expensive
TVR S4 C LHD (one of only 4)

Thanks
Giuseppe

Have you seen this V8S CLICK.
A bit over your budget but it's a vary nice car and maybe worth a call. I'll deliver it for you, but I'll be going via Bavaria and Switzerland so the fuel consumption would be in single figures
If you're thinking about importing from the UK you might be better off waiting until around May/June. That's when we find out what the deal with the EU might look like. If it turns out to be a squadron of unicorns then the exchange rate will fall in your favour. Of course it could go the other way
Import/export rules remain the same until 31st December 2020 what ever happens.

All the V6's are pretty good as long as you get one in good contain as the Ford mechanicals are fairly robust and easy to get hold of.
V8s cost more to own and run but are good too.
If you had more money you could buy an S sepcifically designed for th eItalian market... https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id...
Best way is to see some. If you can wait then go to a TVR event this summer to see some.
Good luck

My suggestion would be a V6 engined car for a daily driver. I would guess that parts are easier to find for the Ford Cologne in Europe than the Rover V8, and Ford bits like brakes are incredibly cheap compared to modern cars.
If you can live with right hand drive (my sister ran a right hand drive Fiat in Umbria for 5 plus years) you get a relatively wide choice of V6s in the UK and your budget would get you a properly restored chassis I'm sure.
Whichever you go for at least you know where to find every bit of knowledge ever recorded for these cars. It is easier to find information here to help me fix my S than it is to fix my Saab, Peugeots or Alfa!
All I can say is that will be one lucky car to live in Italy! Good luck.

if I had the economic availability it is worth buying the v8 or better the v6
It’s a matter of opinion and what you want. A lot on here have owned both. Speaking personally, I enjoyed both the v6 and v8 but they do drive differently. V6 is a car that is eager to be driven hard and to the max and it’s great fun. The V8 needs a little more respect. If I drove the v8 like I did the v6 I would probably be in hedge by nowi would definately NOT buy in italy, nor in france...thats an expensive market for tvr and lotus....if you dont want to cross the channel, you may buy a good one (RHD) in germany....this said: consider an upcharge of 70-100 % for a LHD....is it worth?
a good RHD S with V6 power should not cost more than 6kpound...and than it must be veeeery good!!!
as for 10k you can buy already a good chimaera.

You can thrust Phillpot
For me, the best S model is the S2. The first generation dashboard design is the best looking and the 2.9l engine resolved the head gasket failure problems of the 2.8l S1 engine.
That's right, prices in France are really high compared to GB, but it's not easy to find a good bargain in GB when you don't know anybody on-site to help you. But this forum is full of nice and skillful members that could maybe help you to find your rare gem. Even with a purple bill thanks.... it should be the best solution.

If you are tall (over 6ft) I wouldn’t recommend an S2. Far better to go for the longer doors on an S3/4 or v8s. Makes a big difference getting in and outFor me, the best S model is the S2.
