Took the S out for last drive before winter SORN, got about 5 miles and noticed offside corner of bonnet was high. Pulled over to investigate, but as slowing down, heard something metallic dropping through engine bay. Popped bonnet and found this!:

Excellent design feature of the S having that catchment area 😄

Just telling you it doesn't want to be "SORN'd" wink

until you popped the bonnet that pin should have been locked in the catch mechanism?

If that's the only thing that's fallen off all season then what are you moaning about? laugh

When that happened on mine the pin stayed in the locking mechanism. Maybe that's indicating another little job for the winter? thumbup

If it is MOT'd and Insured then may as well leave it taxed to use on one of thee many dry sunny winter days - blowing cobwebs off driving

True, the Pin would have been held until I popped the bonnet, but could have lost the abnormally large washer!
Instead, I just need to get a replacement Nut.

If you have enough thread sticking through to bite into it, use a nylock nut.
