Or even a bad one!
My complete exhaust system (probably suitable for an S2/3/4)
I've replaced it with an ACT system, but I'm reluctant to scrap it (or anything S-Series) without offering it to anybody who can use it.
It's a mild steel system, complete from the 'hockey sticks' to the tailpipes. Compared to the ACT, I'm not impressed by the quality of the bends at the front or the back. One of the 'hockey sticks' has a slight ding in it.
It has surface corrosion in places but is not perforated or even obviously weakened.
It's been bodged at the front to have swaged and flanged joints: presumably done so as to to use the S3C exhaust when the catalysers were removed, and the manifolds were replaced with S3 items.
It looks as though the muffler has been opened and repacked in the past (the quality of the welding doesn't look original). From the sound, there's certainly not much in the box now!
I've replaced it because:
1. It's too loud for my neighbours (although my wife says she has time to put the kettle on when she hears me coming home). I don't have the kit to attempt re-packing it myself.
2. The flanges reduce ground clearance by about 12mm, and provide a snag point that could threaten the whole system if I grounded at any speed. I've used Mikalor band clamps on the new one.
If anybody wants it (or any part of it) it's available to collect near Bath. I'm quite happy to cut out any sections someone needs.
I'll keep it for another couple of weeks, and then cut it up and scrap it.

Hi John, finally got round to cutting open the exhaust, no wonder you thought it was too loud. There was no sound packing and only one blank on the inlet and outlet pipes left in position. So basically the entire 'silencer' was one big perforated box ha ha.
My aim now in order to practice welding, is to add 2 straight pipes, but adding a 'H' pipe onto the new pipes. I'm interested how it'll sound...... I'll upload some videos on Facebook once done.
Thanks again John
Cheers, Gary
