Hi,

I have seen pictures of S-cars with the alternator on the left hand side due to having a AC compressor on the right side. Is there anyone here who might have one of those lying around?

I want to move my alternator to free up space for the blower

Kind regards

How about fitting a smaller alternator? Plenty of small, high output and quality units available - just pricey, even before you factory in SweedyTax

That said, TVR made their mount out of 10mm plate. Very crudely as well. Can't help but think an apprentice could knock up a better one for a project.

These are off an air conditioning system that was fitted to an S3. I cannot remember having to change the alternator from one side to another when the system was removed...

if it was happy on the left why would you need to move it to the more commonly used right hand side once the a/c was removed?

Mike, I am trying to remember the owner...he is on here with a pearl white 2.9 that was originally either HK or Asia, prior to it returning to the UK. A@

Only a guess, but maybe the non-standard belt run relied on the A/C pulley/tensioner/something.

There are pictures of the car on here with a drivers side alternator (Ph'er maffey), but I cannot remember how the AC was removed and the alternator fitted (other than the AC radiator was damaged and it impeded cooling so the owner asked it all to be removed and what was removed is sat here) . A@
