As im nearing the end of rebuilding/upgrading my S3 i'm coming up against a hurdle in the form of the rear brake hoses, i have upgraded to the rear disc conversion, does anyone have any photos of the rear brake hose setup, and if possible, some measurements

Thanks

Google have everything................... wink

Flexi pipe at chassis ........ flexi pipe
Flexi pipe at caliper ....... short flexi pipe

On my car I opted for one long flexi, from chassis to cailper, P clipped to the trailing arm smile

Another way of doing it...

The caliper will have a metric fitting but it's quite likely the fitting on the chassis will be imperial.

thanks, i've run all new brake lines up the car, so im probably going to put metric both ends, i've also got Wilwood calipers at the front, so think it makes sense to order custom lines rather than a kit and then get a single custom line

To me it's a total "no brainer"... dump all the imperial stuff and go metric throughout.

nice ...... clicky
more nice...... clicky again
and to finish...... clicky once more

The only imperial bit on my S1 was the three way (T piece thingy) so I went metric everywhere and replaced all the hard lines with Kunifer. Just don't repeat my schoolboy error of using a male flare on a female fitting

Right im getting close to needing new lines for the rear and with Christmas coming i thought i better finalise what i need. Some great links and info on here however could do with clarification on the following: -

Im going metric as replacing the lot: -

1. The links below by Mike, the middle link looks to be imperial not metric? or am i being thick?
2. Do you need to replace the t piece (to go metric) that the lines connect to that then runs to the front of the car?
3. The links above for Racetech braided lines, are these metric? i.e
https://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/car-parts/brakes/...
https://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/car-parts/brakes/...

4. If i went for the one line option either side what is the length of this? Assume you would have to get this made up or can these be bought off the shelf?

Cheers

Joe

Don't know, didn't keep a note of the length. Doubtful available "off shelf".
