Need a rubber grommet for here. Any ideas?

As standard TVR brought a whole mass of cables through a big grommit that had no chance of sealing onto an irregular shape so a big splodge of Sikaflex type sealant was added, invariably after many years it still leaks.
In my (humble) opinion you'll never get a grommet to fit that irregular hole and to seal onto a mish mash of cables. Can you do a bit of fibreglassing and get the hole round?
My real world solution.................
take a inch and a quarter waste pipe coupler, cut lengthwise open out and pop it around the bundle of wires. There are some big multiplugs on the cables, it can't be threaded along from either end.
Joint at the bottom and bond it into the bulkhead. I used Isopon P40.
Stuff it full of non setting plumbers putty (usually grey but a little black paint needed in turned it, you've guessed, black).
Now, should I wish to alter anything the putty can be dug out and replaced once new wire has been shoved through
The big red battery lead goes through a 20mm grip gland, normally used to seal mains cables into switch box's etc. If you have no big plugs on the cables could they be threaded through a bigger gland? Because of the irregular shape you'd still need the putty, they are available up to some pretty big sizes

It’s difficult to tell the size from your photo, but might something like this help?
