Only got Toyo Proxes - despite some reservations about performance in wet conditions, they have been great

That blows that idea then.....I have a stack of wheels with R888r tyres on them that you could try, but I am not in Sweden.

I will say however that they are most definitely dry weather tyres, not Swedish winter tyres.

My TVR guy uses Uniroyal Rainsport 3s on his S and swears by them.
Great even in downpours, yet will withstand a track day.

Good news.

I got an offer I could not refuse so I just bought 4pcs new R888R. 225*40*18.

I’m running 18” rims, so we will have to see if that works. The old ones are 10 years old and very hard rubber.

Thank’s for the offer!

A bit challenging to run a TVR outside the UK.

But excellent help here.

I do have the original wheels an will update them with new rubber later. 18’s is a bit bumpy but looks fab.

These were just to good to pass...

Not sure if helpfull or not, but I run 888R;s in 13inch on my Caterham.

I did a recent handling day at Dunsfold and the weather was typical UK - rain hail etc.

We had a slalom set up that increased in speed - and as much as I tried to be ham fisted, the 888's were amazing.....

That is woth only 150hp and 600kg of course....

You might struggle out of your garage and the narrow, muddy lanes around your house.

Should be fine when up to temp on the three sunny days you get each year. biggrin

Great!

The seller told me they will come with tire warmers as in F1. Hope he sticks to his word.....

Three days a year with a big grin might be enough 🏁🏁

Turn7,

I will be running a massaged and blown engine so more than 150 bhp in less than 1000kg’s.

That will be fun.

Just thought Id mention it, as they certainly impressed me. Lots on the Cat fora said deadly when wet etc, but as I said - I could force them to break tractiion on track after a hail storm.....

Open diff mind.....
