Buyers please please please be aware I have just seen a car I once owned appear on Ebay AGAIN !
I owned H83 FLX about 3 years ago, I sold it as a project requiring major chassis work, a very well known TVR specialist recommended a chassis replacement.
A dealer… ha ha !!! Bought it from me, painted the chassis red and sold it on ebay.
It had done in excess of 145000 miles when I sold it.
I hate to see people buy a cheap TVR, find major issues and then say TVR’s are not good cars and knock these fantastic cars.
I have owned TVR’s for over 14 years now and before that had other “older classics”
Yes I have had a body lift done on a 98 chim, 55K miles, out riggers looked OK but were completely shot when the body was off so know what I am talking about

MOT history HERE

Just for a laugh I've sent the seller this question...

Last MOT show a fail on many points including

Nearside Rear Suspension arm attachment bracket/mounting corroded and seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i))
Offside Rear Suspension arm attachment bracket/mounting corroded and seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i))
Nearside Rear Suspension arm damaged and seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i))
Nearside Front Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced (6.1.1 (c) (i))
Offside Front Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (6.1.2 (a))

Have all these been repaired?

I'll let you know if I get an answer laugh

(As you can guess, it's raining here and I've got noting better to do!)

I suppose could ask if the chassis has been repaired or is it a dodgy MOT. But I can't be bothered.

MOT history is interesting all that repair work done in around two weeks. The rear fuel hose cracks would be enough to put me off

Interesting repair technique also

What about the fancy fuel filter which looks like it's sitting just above the exhaust?

Has a warning about this one been posted on Facebook?

I think it being in Scotland will be the most off putting thing rather than making enquiries as to the extent and quality of repairs biggrin

Setting aside the obvious state of the car, why does the fact that it's in Scotland put you off?

Having flown from Gatwick to Edinburgh to purchase Samy, me, personally nothing. Having seriously considered traveling North again recently for an SE again, me, personally nothing.

However, generally speaking the TVR community (not that is any different to any other car community) is reluctant to travel to purchase a car.

Most of the buyers / market are significantly South of the cars location.
