TVR S1, 1988, standard brake system throughout.

After successfully bleeding my front brakes, on bleeding the rears I got three nice little puddles. I'm now unsure about my brake flare strategy, even though most appear to have sealed OK.

I think I may need to remove and redo some, or even all of the flares (fortunately I have left enough length to do that on the more inaccessible pipes).

All components are new and I've got the Saab master cylinder, Goodridge braided hoses, standard Ford rear wheel cylinders and a metric M10 three way T piece to replace the Imperial one.

I've got a Sealey Turret flaring tool and a smaller, good quality hand held one. All pipes were carefully cut using a good quality wheel tool, deburred and then flared.

The flare I have used is an SAE double flare. What have other folks used when making brake pipes?

Could this be your problem?

As a "rule of thumb" a double flare (on the right) is used to join onto a flexi pipe with a female nut and a single flare (on the left) into a T piece or wheel cylinder with a male nut

Thanks, yep, that's it!

Explains why the male unions are leaking and the female unions are not. Oh well, time to break out the pipe cutter.
